Midland County District 5

What does the County Board of Commissioners do?

The Board of Commissioners for Midland County is the elected body that oversees the county government. The commissioners set policy, oversee the budget and the various departments of the county government, and listen to and advocate for constituents.

In Midland, the board of commissioners meets the first and third Tuesday of each month beginning at 9 a.m. (except the months of June, July and August only on the third Tuesday.) The meetings are open to the public and public comments can be made at the meetings. There are also several standing committees that meet regularly. Each commissioner serves on at least two committees, as well as the executive committee. Board meetings are available to view on the Midland Co YouTube channel and on MGTV-5 on the local cable provider. For more details, visit the official Midland County website, which has a wealth of information.
